Destiny :-?
Hi fellas,
Its been long I have typed in something which does not need to be compiled aka gcc-ed, hence this !!
So today I am going to tell you a decently-entertaining real life story about 2 of my schoolmates and 2 of my seniors at school. So this one day I was orkuting (which I keep telling I dont like but yet another forced labour) … okay okay hold it right there, since we have touched upon the subject of Orkut let me talk something about it in the following quoted block.
So I am bit confused about what Orkut does, as in does it intend to do it or its just me.
1. Orkut’s Birthday Reminder : Everyone knows that Orkut uses a single timezone no matter where the user is accessing it from. Nothing wrong abt it. But what the heck, doest that mean it will never show any Bday at the correct time EVER?
2. Orkut’s Fortune of the Day : Now whats the deal with this, In the stupidity order (ascending)
Your winsome smile will be your sure protection
You will always have good luck in your personal affairs
You and your wife will be happy in your life together
Why they are in ascending order of stupidity? Ok, I can safely assume that I have a winsome smile and it will somehow magically work TODAY.(still stupid). Second one is like literally Fk*d up, it uses a work ALWAYS, for a day’s fortune, hello. Third and my fav (remember we are quantizing on stupidity), I am speechless man !! It should rather be “Future
offor the Day !!”But whatever its okay !!
Yeah, so I m like browsing around my schoolmates profiles reading latest scraps and participiting occasioanally, and suddenly my eyes were magically stirred towards one of the scraps reading “Not married, engaged”, and I was like :O
I will tell you why I was like :O and not
or
or >:) or
? …. etc.. So its time to throw in some characters, hmmm. So I have this friend named A we are like buddies and stuff and in a class of 40 he and another 4 which makes us six used to behave more arrogantly amongst each other than we did with others, hence we are friends for life. So this guy A is getting married on 13th Feb, I knew it, it was all hardwired by now in my brain, plans and dates. Its an arranged marriage at his place which I temporarily forgot (I told u, friends for life) but its somewhere in Rajasthan. Now coming back to :O thing, now this news about this girl schoolmate of mine call her P who was now as per Golden Orkut Scrap, “Engaged” (and later came to know getting married on 7th Feb) was continuously, without fail, spiritually, hit on by non other than A and thats why I was like :O and not
, so whats the deal lot of ppl get married on the same day, hmmm still this was like awesome to hear / read. And then my quest for knowledge, recalling that Learning was my passion, I started hunting for information about marriages of my schoolmates. In short I came to know another couple of girls getting married soon and one of my friends successfully predicted the future and said, “Can you believe they are getting married, and the next thing they will have is, Babies”. yeah buddy thats true.
When I was in class 7th or 8th can’t recall, I went for this school trip to a place called Panchmarhi. It was a pleasant one and I remember almost everything about that trip (except what class I was in when it happened) one of the things I recall when I think about it is this conversation me and one of my seniors at school call him L, an IIT-B grad had. How he liked one of his batchmates and would really like to be a part of her life, basically he was in Love (yeah just love, it was not deep, it was not true, just love got it !! thats the only kind of love exist). So one of these days I get an invitation for attending his marriage, and since it was a Bcc-ed mail it was a formal invitation to the marriage with an e-copy of invitation (God! how I hate e-stuff, had blogs being called e-diary I would have never started it) there was no extra information. So, I go through this e-card and find out that the girls name is R , I catch him on GTalk and ask him this wierd question “Is this the same girl R, you talked to me about on Panchmarhi trip ?” and he was like “Yup
“. Oh God ! I am glad it happened. Alas his marriage was on the very day as SIGGRAPH submission.
So lot of BC going around people growing up, getting married, others watching them, yet others just blogging about it!! I am expecting a lot of entertainment over next couple of years.
Happy Life buddies !!

Flashbacks …
someone asked me how was my trip back home ? and here i go
I was home for a week during diwali. I was literally home, it was different from any other time in many ways, starting with I was away from home for the maximum number of days i.e. 157, and on top of it, it was the shortest holiday back home in last 4 years i.e. 4 days. Secondly I spent more time at home rather than roaming around and did everything my mom wanted me to, mind u which includes talking about her choices of girls for me and not taking along a novel when we visited Grandma’s place. I took my family for shopping + myself bought a new cell (more on it later).
More importantly, I recalled on maximum number of memories during that little stay. Flashbacks, thats what I got, with my old stuff at home, really really old stuff at home, the way to school and things and places falling on my way, the farms which had this little berry plants where we would stop by and spend sometime after the school, the whole lot of problems I faced at school on my first day (a guy from my class ate my lunch on the first day, SOaB), and the usual stuff, of entertaining poor souls in class 12th, for their entrance exams, no no, not technically but philosophically
, thats wat I m better at I guess. I did not miss on eating at our hangout / chat (the one u eat) place near Harsh’s place and ofcourse BCing with sachin and sawan.
A lot of things have changed since I left the place, but important things seem to be left untouched. Best friends, best moments, feeling for being there with all of them. All in all it was a packed trip home, happy to see the family and friends.

Passion – I
I was 11 when I first stepped on a basketball court, no it was not at my school. Infact my school did not have a basketball court untill the year I passed out i.e. out of the school after grade 12. Before I was 11 most of my life had nothing to do with passions, just simple life, spending days at school and then later at home, and getting adapted to the new place i.e. my home town.
I used to walk to this basketball court at a local arts and science college, around a Km from my place. Most of the time I would bring along a ball with me so that I can dribble that to the court. I did not play much then, as in the game, most of the time it was just dribbling and shooting with the punctured balls (as in fill up every half an hour if u play for a couple of hours). I learnt a lot of ball there, watching the college guys play and occasionally playing a short game…and then when I reached High School it all ended, the regular basketball in the evening, and for what ? Hanging out, pool, PC gaming, riding bikes in and out of the small town and all the stuff one would like to do at school. At 17 I got into Table Tennis and Badminton and was one of the 2 best players of table tennis at school and formed the best doubles in badminton, but it was not as exciting as ball. Once I left school, there was no game I played more than I did basketball. Even with my small stay at Vellore Institute of Tech for like a couple of weeks, I went to one of the 4 flood light courts (yeah they had 4 courts with lights and I guess a couple more which were closer to hostels as the hostels are across the railway track and u got to go under the small bridge to go to the main building and Library) and watched some real tough guys playing good ball…..
For me basketball carries 40% of my stay at IIIT (as in the part of my life I will always rmr). All those amazing games right from the first year, when we played so much for fun, rao starting with basketball, ruchir, shivam and me building our game … then in second year, when I started feeling so much for the game, I so much wanted to win it, Prithvi vs Vayu game, which got a story in the echoes, will never forget that game. third year when we got one of the best player iiit will ever have, Arun B (I dont believe I m praising someone with that poor standard of the game
) and playing with ruchir, shivam, rao, hemanth and him was awesome. There are many moments with basketball at IIIT which are hardwired in my memory….
Then, a few days back I thought of quitting basketball….
My Teacher’s …
Today, I thank my loving Teachers for giving me the most precious thing, Knowledge and help me reach my goals and learn to live.
My first school was one owned by my mother, and she used to teach at that school, and thus for fun I used to go there. Thats why I did my LKG / KG 1 twice when I went to my real school as the medium of teaching changed from Hindi to English.
Love you Mom, Thank you Teachers
