The Rule of Four !!

I have been reading a book for sometime now, The Rule of Four and it didn’t take much time for me to realize it was a masterpiece although it was clearly written on top of the cover, NewYork Times Bestseller, but you know about all the choice thing etc. etc. so I have been half way through, as my idea of reading a novel is really bad and is proportional to the time I get between the time I feel like sleeping and I actually sleep. Hence I m crawling…

There are some awesome lines which struck me rite away …

What a strange thing, to build a castle in the air. We made a friendship out of nothing, because nothing was the heart of what we shared.

Close as he and I have a lot in common, good fences still make good neighbors. Leonardo wrote that a painter should begin every canvas with a wash of black, because all things in nature are dark except where exposed by the light. Most painters do the opposite, starting with a whitewash and adding the shadows last. The only things people can ever know about you are the ones you let them see.

One of the only advantages of coming from nothing, is having the freedom to reinvent yourself. In fact, its less a freedom than a kind of obligation.

Never invest yourself in anything so deeply that its failure could cost you your happiness.

A good friend stands in the harm’s way for you the second you ask – but a great friend does it without being asked at all.

Flashbacks …

someone asked me how was my trip back home ? and here i go

I was home for a week during diwali. I was literally home, it was different from any other time in many ways, starting with I was away from home for the maximum number of days i.e. 157, and on top of it, it was the shortest holiday back home in last 4 years i.e. 4 days. Secondly I spent more time at home rather than roaming around and did everything my mom wanted me to, mind u which includes talking about her choices of girls for me and not taking along a novel when we visited Grandma’s place. I took my family for shopping + myself bought a new cell (more on it later).

More importantly, I recalled on maximum number of memories during that little stay. Flashbacks, thats what I got, with my old stuff at home, really really old stuff at home, the way to school and things and places falling on my way, the farms which had this little berry plants where we would stop by and spend sometime after the school, the whole lot of problems I faced at school on my first day (a guy from my class ate my lunch on the first day, SOaB), and the usual stuff, of entertaining poor souls in class 12th, for their entrance exams, no no, not technically but philosophically , thats wat I m better at I guess. I did not miss on eating at our hangout / chat (the one u eat) place near Harsh’s place and ofcourse BCing with sachin and sawan.

A lot of things have changed since I left the place, but important things seem to be left untouched. Best friends, best moments, feeling for being there with all of them. All in all it was a packed trip home, happy to see the family and friends.

Listening to :: Staind, Its been a while …

Since I blogged last (September 27th, 2006),

• My parents have inquired about me coming home 8 times. (yeah m going)
• It rained in a very weird but nice way, like snow fall kind of thing.
• I have not slept well
• I have moved to the ground floor (172.16.31.76)
• Had some really nice dinners (Chili Peppers and Pizza Hut)
• Watched Movies (RoadTrip, 11:14, My Super ex-gf )
• Played a lot of good games at the court
• New Hostel coming up near OBH has grown higher
• Haven’t gone for swimming
• Did not login much on my Yahoo !! GMail Tab looks like enuf I guess !
• Firefox 2.0 has been released and its nice really fast and nice
• Moved to Google Reader (from Bloglines)
• Schumi’s Engine Failed !!
• Developed a taste for Staind and dreamtheater.
• Sania Mirza lost to and defeated Swiss Miss

The only PS :: Playing music in an empty room is really kewl.
