Passion – II
Kahlil Gibran once wrote :: “Your reason and your passion are your rudder and sails of your seafaring soul. If either be broken, you could but toss and drift or else be held at a standstill amid seas. For reason, running alone, is a force confining. And passion, unattended, is a flame that burns to its own destruction.”
Love and Passion go hand in hand, infact as far as I have seen its harder to be passionate about something than to love it, simply because I think Love seems to have a better success rate during the happy moments of your life, but passion on the other hand is what you want to, is what you are and what stays after everything has left and thats why one needs to be passionate about what he loves.
For just a couple of days I tried to avoid basketball, I thought, it cant be that hard as in I did quit on so much stuff previously back at school and here at college, but it seemed as if I cant seperate the 2 of us. May be because I have the memories from that court at the Arts and Science college or may be when I am at the court I feel there is no world beyond it and all my worries, if any, seem to back off. May be because it had stayed with me when I had nothing else to waste my breath on. May be it got me rid of the lonely room in hostel. All in all its one thing I can rely on, its one of the things I am passionate about ….
Day before yesterday I returned to my room from CVIT at around 5:30 PM and asked balak to get ready for ball. I never called(on cell) anyone to come for basketball, dont take it wrong but its just the laziness, that day I did and was so happy to go back and play, 2 days seemed like I have been doing things but where is the thing I wait the whole day for. Yes, it rocked, felt the same way when I used to get a chance to play for 10 mins at that very first court of mine when I was 12, it stays the same ….
Things dont become a part of your life overnight, neither do people. Feelings dont change overnight, neither do passions.
